AUGUSTA – Gov. Janet Mills issued an Executive Order Friday loosening some of the restrictions previous orders had placed on Mainers.
According to a statement from the governor’s office, the latest order allows gatherings up to 50 people beginning Monday and eliminates the distinction between essential and nonessential businesses.
It urges people to continue to work from home if possible but eases the Stay Safer at Home order to allow people to patronize businesses now reopened.
Also, effective next Friday, businesses must post signs requiring people to wear face coverings when social distancing is not possible. It also allows businesses to deny entry or service to someone not wearing a face covering, or who is exempt from doing so.
More details can be found on the Governor’s website.
