AUGUSTA – A spokesman for Governor Janet Mills says she wants to hear highway funding proposals from republicans.
The governor’s comments come in the wake of republican lawmakers calling on the governor to commit more money to repair roads and bridges.
According to the governor’s statement, republicans need to stop posturing and start negotiating with democrats on the blue ribbon commission on highway funding.
In fact, the governor says her supplemental budget announced earlier this week proposed $10 million to fund highway repairs.
According to statement issued Friday, Mills “looks forward to hearing” the republicans’ recommendations for highway repair funding.
