BANGOR – Some “elves” from All Saints Catholic School in Bangor helped out at a senior care facility Thursday.
It was part of a school activity called Project North Pole.
Students from All Saints collected gifts for seniors living at Phillips-Strickland House in Bangor. Each grade got different items, collecting everything from stuffed animals to lotions.
On Thursday, students were at the facility wrapping the presents.
They said it’s something they enjoy.
“A lot of these people probably wouldn’t have gifts otherwise so it feels good to know that they’re going to open gifts on Christmas morning,” said Ava Marquis, a sixth grade student.
Julia Rioux, also a sixth grader, said the activity was like “touching your heart, kind of, because you get to wrap gifts for people who don’t get gifts.”
All Saints students have taken on the North Pole Project for the last few years.
This year sixth graders said they wrapped and donated hundreds of gifts and stocking stuffers.
