BANGOR — Green party candidates made a stop in Bangor Thursday.
Lisa Savage, who will be representing the Green Party in the Maine Senate Race campaigned at Bagel Central.
Savage was accompanied by Howie Hawkins who is the Green Party presidential nominee.
Savage said she is a fan of ranked-choice voting.
“Ranked choice voting gives us the opportunity to vote our values versus voting our fears,” she said. “The lesser of two evils, you know, ‘You’ve got to pick this one and you might get this one instead,’ goes away in ranked-choice voting. By ranking me first that’s not giving a vote to Susan Collins. We’ve been asking our supporters to rank Lisa first and then vote blue No. 2.”
Savage said Sen. Collins is not a popular choice so she believes ranked-choice voting is a huge opportunity for her.
The election is less than two weeks away on Nov. 3.
