GREENVILLE – People are starting to contact fabric stores directly to make their own masks to stop the spread of COVID-19.
That’s according to a local fabric store owner, who says online orders for stabilizers that go inside of masks, elastics and other textiles have gone through the roof.
She says those orders are from people seeking to create masks for themselves and others.
“I think it’s a great thing that it’s going to those who need it,” said Marilyn Goodwin, owner of Crazy Moose Fabrics. “We have a large community of people who are willing to give up these resources and make these masks for people who need them.”
She also says while online sales are up, foot traffic to her store has gone down.
