NATIONWIDE – Those who like mild weather should be happy with a certain groundhog’s forecast.
Just before 7:30 a.m. Sunday, Punxsutawney Phil emerged from his tree stump.
Phil did not see his shadow, which is his way of saying spring will arrive early this year.
This year was 134th annual Groundhog Day celebration in Punxsutawney, which is about 80 miles northeast of Pittsburgh.
It was the first time in six years that Phil has predicted an early spring.
