WINTERPORT – A craft fair at the Smith School on Saturday will give those who go a chance to get a jump start on their holiday shopping and give back to the community.
Organizer Greg DaSilva said the craft fair started small but has grown to more than 50 vendors.
He said all vendors are screened to make sure they have handmade products and none of them are mass-produced.
“We want to make sure there’s a good quality product and there’s a good diversity of products so we don’t have too many people selling the same thing because that hurts the vendors and the customers,” he said.
All of the proceeds go to a fund that helps buy food, clothes and gifts for students in need.
The craft fair is set for 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday at the Smith School at 319 Main St.
Admission is free.
The local Boy Scout troop will also be collecting winter hat, glove and coat donations.
