HOLDEN – Some special recognition this week for a police officer in Holden.
Lieutenant Eddie Benjamin was named the department’s officer of the year.
It’s the first time the department has done something like this in its 17 years of existence.
“Eddie Benjamin is the kind of guy that is so well-thought of in so many ways,” said Holden Police Chief Chris Greeley. “He’s personable, he’s hardworking, he’s professional. He has the highest level of integrity and honesty. He leads by example. He is just a cop’s cop, and again … just so grateful to be able to do something like this for a guy like him.”
“I work with a good group of guys and I really enjoy my job, and I love to come here every day, and we have fun,” Lt. Benjamin said. “We have a really good group.”
Benjamin has over a decade of full-time experience in police work, and was hired in Holden back in 2015.
