BANGOR – Before Christmas, a local artist built a sculpture from donated cans of food at Hollywood Casino.
On Wednesday, the casino donated the 1,400 pounds of food used to construct the sculpture to the Good Shepherd Food Bank.
“Well, we’re really excited. This is the 10th year we’ve been making these amazing, giant canned food sculptures to benefit those in need and to help the Good Shepherd Food Bank, who are one of our favorite partners in this community,” said Hollywood Casino General Manager Austin Muchemore.
Muchemore said the casino’s patrons have donated nearly seven tons of food over the past 10 years.
