BANGOR – Thousands in the Bangor area celebrated Christmas Eve by attending a church service.
The Rock Church offered six Christmas Eve services between its Bangor and Old Town campuses, beginning at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday.
Often times, it can be easy to get lost in the hustle and bustle of the holidays and for some, this time of the year can bring more hurt than happy.
But organizers say the annual candlelight service reminds people of the true reason for the season.
“And so, at Christmastime more than any other time, we want to let people know that no matter what the season means to you, the truth of the season is still the truth than can carry us through those good seasons and bad, which is Jesus Christ,” said Jay Mann, the Bangor campus pastor for The Rock Church.
Mann told us more than 1,500 people were expected to attend the Rock Church’s Christmas Eve services.
