BANGOR – The Husson University School of Business will soon be getting a new home, thanks to generous donations and support.
Husson’s Shaping our Future campaign began years ago, with a goal of raising $21 million to support students through endowments and other programs.
School officials said the campaign has surpassed its goal — reaching a total of nearly $38 million dollars. That provided Husson the funds needed to create a new building to house the College of Business.
“This will be growing the options for Maine, particularly in the Bangor area and beyond, but for economic development, so that we’re not only helping the students who will work here in the future, but also the businesses that are already here,” said Marie Hansen, dean of the Husson College of Business and NESCOM.
The Husson University School of Business is Maine’s largest business school.
The new building has an expected price tag of more than $17 million dollars, according to a statement from the school.
Officials hope to break ground on the new building in April.
