NORRIDGEWOCK – Two 15-year-olds are facing charges in connection with reported burglaries in Somerset County.
Authorities were called to a home on Winding Hill Road Tuesday, according to the Somerset County Sheriff’s Office.
The property owners are in Florida for the winter but spoke to deputies about the incident.
Authorities said they found the door to the residence had been forced open and that a snowmobile was missing from a trailer inside a shed.
Nearby on Airport Road, state police were working to solve a reported pickup truck burglary.
State police said they eventually located the truck — and identified two juveniles — one from Norridgewock and one from Winthrop — as suspects.
Authorities then located the stolen snowmobile near one of the suspect’s home.
Both teens have been charged with burglary, theft and criminal mischief, although sheriff’s deputies said additional charges are possible pending review by the Somerset County District Attorney’s Office.
