BANGOR — Members of the Knights of Columbus are holding a drive-through food drive to help restock area food pantries and serve those experiencing food insecurity.
On Saturday, members will be outside St. Paul the Apostle Parish’s six churches in Winterport, Bangor, Brewer and Hampden.
The food drive begins at 10 a.m. and goes until 2 p.m.
“There’s so many people that are unemployed and having a hard time,” said Keith Forbes of the Bangor area Knights of Columbus. “It’s just one of the ways that we can give back to the community and help each other out on these difficult times.”
This is the second food drive the Knights of Columbus has held this year.
Back in April, Forbes said they received 4,300 pounds of items, along with financial donations totaling more than $800.
If you can’t make it Saturday, Forbes said you can still support by sending monetary donations to the food banks.
