BANGOR – Saturday was the last day people could stop in at Bangor’s historic Hill House to see it decorated in this year’s Nutcracker theme.
It was all part of the annual Holidays at the Hill House tradition. Since early December, the Hill House was open to the public and guests had a chance to vote on their favorite room based on the best use of the Nutcracker theme.
Each room was decorated and presented by community sponsors. The executive director of the Bangor Historical Society said this year they had less time to show off the house but they still had many visitors.
“Obviously the numbers are a little bit off, but days like today and every Saturday…it’s been very robust so we’re going to keep that in mind going forward, maybe change our hours up next year, but hopefully we won’t be as limited with the calendar and schedule so that we’ll have more time to appreciate all this hard work that our sponsors and decorators did,” said Bangor Historical Society Executive Director Michael Melochick.
He added that they’ll be announcing the winner for favorite room via the Bangor Historical Society’s Facebook page. You can check there for the results.
