LEVANT – A local tree farm is helping spread holiday cheer this season.
Treworgy Family Orchards in Levant is partnering with the Salvation Army for a “gift-a-tree” opportunity.
The program allows people to buy a Christmas tree at half-price to give to a family in need.
“We were thinking, ‘How can we make things a little bit better?’ We have a few extra trees this year, so we wanted to be able to get those to people in need and be able to give someone a good surprise this year. It’s been tough for a lot of folks,” said Jon Kenerson, CEO of Treworgy Family Orchards.
You can gift a tree to someone you know, or you can do it anonymously if you’d like.
The tree will cost a little less than $30.
You have to act fast, though, because the opportunity expires November 26 at midnight.
To get involved, go to Treworgy’s website, www.treworgyorchards.com, and click on the “Gift-a-Tree” link at the top of the website.
