ORRINGTON- Restaurants aren’t the only businesses doing curbside pickup due to COVID-19 concerns.
“It was very good because I had to bring both dogs in,” said Jessica Bouchard, a local dog owner.
Like all essential businesses, Kindred Spirits Veterinarian Clinic in Orrington is working to keep their employees and clients safe.
“We’re having people wait in the parking lot. Our staff are coming out to the cars and getting the animals and bringing them inside,” said associate veterinarian, Chris Barry.
Barry said they talk to pet owners about treatment over the phone.
“It was great. We still got the services we needed to get done and there wasn’t a risk to anybody,” Bouchard explained
Staff is also using telehealth to check on pets that may not need in person care.
Other vet clinics in the area say they’re doing the same.
“Not knowing what happens day to day is tough on everyone,” Barry said. “Our animals are really there to help us when we’re feeling bad and they’re there for the same reason.”
As always, you should call your vet if you have any concerns.
If it’s a need that can wait, you’re advised to do so.
