BANGOR- City councilors discussed supporting Maine AllCare’s mission to provide equitable healthcare.
Maine AllCare is a group of physicians and other medical professionals working to keep healthcare affordable.
The group is asking Bangor city councilors to urge legislatures to create a state-financed healthcare system.
“I want to avoid things like the people who actually have things like health insurance don’t go see the doctor because of co-pays,” said Andrew Sarto, the leader of the Bangor chapter of Maine AllCare. “They don’t buy their medication because it costs so much. What we’re looking for is something everyone has access to.”
City councilors will be working on a draft resolve at their next Government Operations Committee meeting, which will be on February 3rd.
