NATIONWIDE (WGME) — A Maine astronaut once again took time to answer questions from students on Earth.
Chris Cassidy has been aboard the International Space Station since April.
Earlier this week, Girl Scouts from several states recorded their questions and he answered them from the space station.
“Hi! My name is Madison. And I’m from Texas. My question is how do astronauts eat food in space?” one Girl Scout asked Cassidy.
“Well, Madison, that is a question right up my ally cause I like to eat a lot,” Cassidy responded. “This is mango salad. Doesn’t look appetizing but it’s pretty tasty. And we have a diff type of packaging — no water needed — heat it up. Tomato basil soup one of my favorite things to eat up here.”
Cassidy has been an astronaut since 2004 and is a veteran of two space flights.
