STATEWIDE – The number of confirmed COVID-19 cases in Maine has grown to 586, an increase of 26 from Thursday, according to an update posted late Friday morning on the Maine Center for Disease Control and Prevention’s website.
The number of deaths attributed to the coronavirus epidemic also increased, going from 16 on Thursday to 17, Maine CDC reported.
As of Friday, the illness had spread to all but one of Maine’s 16 counties. Piscataquis County has yet to have a confirmed case, according to state health officials.
Meanwhile, 246 Mainers have recovered from the illness and 111 people have been hospitalized, according to the Maine CDC website.
