AUGUSTA – In Monday’s CDC briefing, Dr. Nirav Shah said they are continuing investigations on two outbreaks of COVID-19.
One is at the Sedgewood Commons facility in Falmouth, a facility where affected patients were mostly in one unit and those who may have been exposed have been moved to a single unit.
He said they are conducting more tests.
Shah also said they are also investigating an outbreak at Bath Iron Works.
He said the Maine CDC is aware of three cases within the facility.
Two of the individuals work in the same department and all three carpool together and have recently been involved with the union activities.
They are arranging for testing of exposed individuals.
“As always, the safety of affected individuals is our top priority,” Shah said.
As of around 4 p.m. on Monday, the Maine CDC was reporting 3,219 cases of COVID-19 in the state of Maine, an increase of 28 since Sunday.
So far, 2,623 individuals have recovered.
One more person has died, making the statewide death toll 105.
