AUGUSTA — The Maine Center for Disease Control and Prevention said Monday the number of coronavirus cases counted in Maine grew by 27 to a total of 5,106. In addition, one more Mainer has died after contracting the illness, bringing the number of deaths to date to 140.
Of the total cases detected in Maine so far, 520 were considered probable and 582 were considered active, Maine CDC posted in an update on its website.
The latest CDC COVID-19 statistics show 4,384 people have recovered from the virus since it hit Maine in mid-March, while a total of 440 people have required hospitalization to treat the virus.
So far, nearly 834,000 COVID-19 tests have been conducted around the state, according to the Maine CDC.
