AUGUSTA — The Maine Center for Disease Control and Prevention reported Tuesday that another Mainer has died after contracting COVID-19, bringing the statewide death toll to 141.
In addition, the number of cases of COVID-19 in the state has increased by 37, bringing the cumulative total to 5,337, state health officials said.
Of the total cases counted in Maine so far, 560 were considered probable and 567 were considered active, Maine CDC posted on its website.
The latest CDC COVID-19 statistics show 4,629 people have recovered from the virus since it hit Maine in mid-March, while a total of 447 people have required hospitalization to treat the virus.
So far, more than 433,000 coronavirus tests have been conducted around the state, according to the Maine CDC.
