AUGUSTA — The Maine Center for Disease Control and Prevention said Wednesday one more Mainer has died after contracting coronavirus, bringing the total number of deaths linked to the virus in Maine to 138, and the number of cases counted in the state grew by 23 to 4,941.
Of the total cases detected in Maine so far, 507 were considered probable and 496 were considered active, Maine CDC posted in an update on its website.
The latest CDC COVID-19 statistics show 4,307 people have recovered from the virus since it hit Maine in mid-March, while a total of 433 people have required hospitalization to treat the virus.
So far, more than 346,000 COVID-19 tests have been conducted around the state, according to the Maine CDC.
