AUGUSTA — The Maine Center for Disease Control and Prevention reported Friday that the number of cases of COVID-19 in the state has increased by 20, bringing the total so far to 5,235.
Meanwhile, the number of deaths connected to the virus held steady at 140, according to the Maine CDC.
Of the total cases counted in Maine so far, 544 were considered probable and 588 were considered active, Maine CDC posted on its website.
The latest CDC COVID-19 statistics show 4,507 people have recovered from the virus since it hit Maine in mid-March, while a total of 442 people have required hospitalization to treat the virus.
So far, more than 409,500 COVID-19 tests have been conducted around the state, according to the Maine CDC.
