AUGUSTA – The Maine Center for Disease Control and Prevention reported Friday the state has 36 new cases of COVID-19 and that the death toll grew by three.
On its web site, Maine CDC said the cumulative number of COVID-19 cases across the state now stands at 2,482. Of the total, 265 of the cases were defined as probable cases or the same total as of Thursday.
The latest CDC COVID-19 statistics show 1,797 people have recovered from the virus since it hit Maine, while 293 people have required hospitalization to treat the virus. Those totals are the same as Wednesday.
So far, nearly 63,000 people in Maine have been tested for COVID-19.
Maine CDC has canceled its daily briefing for Friday but a spokesman said the briefings will resume on Monday.
