AUGUSTA – The Maine Center for Disease Control and Prevention reported Friday that another 37 Mainers have contracted COVID-19 and that the illness has claimed one more life, bringing the statewide death toll to 85.
According to the Maine CDC’s coronavirus website, the total number of confirmed cases of COVID-19 across the state is now 2,226, of which 255 were defined as probable cases.
The latest CDC COVID-19 statistics show 1,458 people have recovered from the virus since it hit Maine, while 270 people have required hospitalization to treat the virus.
So far, nearly 50,000 people in Maine have been tested for COVID-19.
