AUGUSTA — The Maine Center for Disease Control and Prevention said Tuesday that one more Mainer has died after contracting coronavirus, bringing the total number of deaths linked to the virus to 137. Meanwhile, the number of cases counted in Maine grew by 15 to 4,918.
Of the total cases detected in Maine so far, 503 were considered probable and 501 were considered active, Maine CDC posted in an update on its website.
The latest CDC COVID-19 statistics show 4,280 people have recovered from the virus since it hit Maine in mid-March, while a total of 432 people have required hospitalization to treat the virus.
So far, more than 343,000 COVID-19 tests have been conducted around the state, according to the Maine CDC.
