BANGOR – Gas stations around the Bangor area are selling gas at prices well below the state and national average.
That’s according Friday’s AAA gas prices for Maine, where the average cost was listed as $1.84 — a dollar less than last year.
In the Bangor area, several stations were charging as low as $1.49.
Amanda Danico of Eddington, who drives a truck, was happy about the lower gas prices.
“I think they’re great, especially with my truck. I mean it was like almost $70 to fill my truck and now I just put $20 in and I was at a quarter of a tank and I got money back. So it’s phenomenal,” she said.
Danico added that in today’s hard economic times the low gas prices are one positive.
According to AAA, the national gas price average is $1.89.
