GUILFORD — More than $50 million is headed to Puritan Medical Product to help fight COVID-19.
That’s according to a joint statement from the U.S. Department of Defense and the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services. The money was awarded to Puritan the company can expand production of COVD-19 testing swabs.
The statement said the money comes from the COVID-19 relief package passed by Congress and approved by President Donald Trump.
The money also is targeted to help pay for renovations at a new Puritan facility in Pittsfield.
