STATEWIDE – A Mainer is being tested for coronavirus, according to the Maine Center for Disease Control and Prevention.
The person undergoing testing, who is waiting for the test results, voluntarily agreed to confine themselves to their home, Maine CDC said in a statement issued late Monday.
The statement indicated the person has complied with all recommendations from the health bureau and will remain in their home until the test results are received.
If the test results are positive, it will be the first case of the illness among Maine residents.
There is no word yet on whether the person who was tested had recently visited China, where the coronavirus was first discovered.
