BREWER – One Brewer resident has gone viral after he created a great way to uplift those stuck in quarantine or working from home.
On Wednesday, March 18, Joe Meyers created a Facebook group called “Quarantine Karaoke,” where users can send in videos of them singing their favorite songs.
Meyers said the page’s main purpose is to provide hope and a sort of silver lining to as many people as possible.
“It’s been an avalanche of people with just with gratitude and appreciation saying that they were quarantined and depressed and teetering on a cliff for the last three days. Then they found this site and they’ve just forgotten about all of that and they have been smiling and laughing ever since,” Meyers said
In five short days, the group has grown to 205,000 members with some joining from around the state and even across the world.
Meyers also said he fully intends to keep the page up even after the quarantine ends.
