BANGOR — An Indian Township man is facing multiple charges after he allegedly held his girlfriend captive inside her Bangor apartment.
Bangor police Detective Lt. Brent Beaulieu said Dustin Francis, 34, was arrested Monday after he was released from the the hospital, where he was treated for a self-inflicted gunshot wound.
According to Beaulieu, police were called about an injured man laying in the street on Parkview Avenue on Nov. 7.
When they arrived, they found Francis with a gunshot wound. He told them he had been attacked been an unknown person, the police lieutenant said.
Beaulieu said while they were still on the scene, police received a 911 call from his girlfriend saying she had escaped her residence after being assaulted and held at gunpoint by Francis.
She told police the gunshots were fired while she was held captive.
As the result of the police investigation, Francis is charged with kidnapping, domestic violence aggravated assault, threatening with a dangerous weapon, reckless conduct and possession of a firearm by a prohibited person.
