MASARDIS – An Ashland man is facing charges following two separate incidents in Masardis.
State police arrested Brandon Saucier, 36, and charged him with criminal restraint and terrorizing.
Police say they were called to a residence on the Blackwater Road Friday morning around 10:00 a.m. after a woman and her partner woke to find themselves unable to get out of their home.
According to police, the couple contacted a neighbor to help with what they though might be ice keeping the door shut.
Authorities say the neighbor found the door padlocked from the outside, and used a bolt cutter to remove the lock.
When police arrived, they were told someone had poured gasoline on the couple’s door and left the can in front of the home.
Police say no fire was reported.
An police investigation reportedly linked Saucier to both acts.
Saucier was taken to the Aroostook County Jail where bail was set.
Saucier will make his first court appearance in Presque Isle next week.
