EAST MILLINOCKET – A Maine man who had been out on bail for manslaughter and OUI charges was arrested on New Year’s Eve in East Millinocket.
East Millinocket police say they were called to a residence on Cedar Street for a reported fight before 8 p.m. on December 31.
Inside, they found 34-year-old Merrill Muncey, who had recently moved to the East Millinocket area from the Holden area.
Muncey was free on bail, but was under a curfew and told not to use alcohol.
Authorities found him to be in violation of his bail conditions and placed him under arrest.
Police say Muncey became highly uncooperative and combative when he was taken to the police department, and also made “several serious, harmful threats towards officers.”
He was taken to the Penobscot County Jail. He is scheduled to appear in court in February.
