HAMPDEN – It was two weeks ago today when a construction worker was critically injured along Interstate 95 when a pile of metal sheet pilings fell on him.
Eric Jabbusch, 50, of Turner was severely injured when the pilings — weighing several tons each — fell on him as they were being unloaded from a trailer.
He was taken to Northern Light Eastern Maine Medical Center in Bangor.
On Tuesday, a hospital spokesperson said he was transferred.
Family members created a Facebook page — #jabbucshstrong — to keep people informed of his condition.
The most recent post states he was transferred to Massachusetts General.
The Maine Department of Transportation, along with Cianbro Corp. of Pittsfield, are replacing eight bridges and rehabbing a ninth bridge in Hampden, along I-95. Jabbusch was working on the bridge closest to Bangor when the Jobsite incident occurred.
