BANGOR- More than one-hundred people attended a city council workshop about Pickering Square.
Councilors voted 5-4 to bring a proposed plan to move the bus hub to their next full council meeting.
The proposed plan would move the bus hub to Water Street, creating a larger green space in the square.
Some are in favor of the plan, as it would leave the bus hub in Pickering Square.
Others say the bus hub needs to be moved to a different location in the city.
“I really think we can combine what everyone is looking for as far as making Pickering a comfortable place for people to be for outdoor gathering as well as making it a safe and usable space for the buses,” said city council chair, Clare Davitt. “Those are the two big pieces we’re looking at.”
Other locations considered for the bus hub included Abbot Square and Washington Street.
