NORTHEAST HARBOR – Downtown Northeast Harbor will be getting a face lift over the next couple of months.
Renovations costing more than $3 million will include removing overhead utilities, widening out the sidewalks, landscaping and putting in new water lines, according to Town Manager Durlin Lunt.
He said he hopes people see a major difference after the renovations are finished.
“What we hope they’ll see is an enhanced Main Street but one they see is an enhanced Main Street but one that they’ll recognize. It’s to make it not only safer for the fire company and new water lines but to make it look a little prettier. That’s what we hope the impact will be and what we hope will be the final result,” he said.
Lunt said the plan is to have the majority, if not all, of the construction finished by May of next year.
