AUGUSTA- The Office of the Attorney General is investigating an officer involved shooting that happened early Sunday morning.

Just after midnight, the Augusta Police Department responded to a home, searching for a man wanted by the Fairfield Police Department for domestic assault and animal cruelty charges.
Officer Sabastian Guptill located the man and the shooting happened.
The suspect was transported to a hospital for treatment.
Officials said he is in stable condition.
Officer Guptill was not injured and has been placed on leave with pay while the incident is being investigated.
The suspects name or what led up to the shooting has not been released.
