OLD TOWN- A new doggy day care will be opening soon in Old Town.
Lisa Daniels decided to make her dreams come true with plans to open Four Paws Farm in September.
“I always wanted to have a place where dogs can come and have fun, but be safe, feel at home. I want it to have that cozy home feeling,” said Lisa Daniels, owner of Four Paws Farm.
In the Orono and Old Town areas, there are no day care’s for dogs, according to Daniels.
Daniels and her husband purchased their 11-acre home in February, took out a business loan and started to build their farm into a small daycare for dogs.
With 15 years of experience with rescue dogs, Daniels is confident of running her own business.
“I am deciding to keep my daycare small, no more than 15-20 dogs a day, and I think that it will give me the opportunity to have more one on one with each dog to give them that attention and love they deserve.
Safety and health are Daniels’ number one concern.
The dogs will fenced outside and get slowly introduced to other dogs at the camp, according to Daniels.
“I’m excited and nervous just because we are still under construction, you know we need to finish that up but very excited to be making my dream come true,” said Daniels.
Her main goal is to build a relationship with the owners and their dog.
