YORK – Two men, including one from Orono, were arrested on drug trafficking charges in southern Maine.
State police say around 9 p.m. Thursday, a trooper stopped a vehicle on the northbound side of the Maine turnpike in York.
A drug-sniffing dog called to the scene detected narcotics in the vehicle.
Authorities searched the vehicle and found more than 140 grams of cocaine, 880 Xanax pills and a loaded firearm.
As a result, police charged 28-year-old Terell Walker of Orono and 20-year-old Torrey Santos of Westbrook with two counts of aggravated trafficking.
The two were taken to the York County Jail, where bail was set at $25,000 each.
