ORRINGTON – Sunday wrapped up the third day of the Orrington Old Home Week.
Sunday’s celebration was the popular Sedgeunkeduck Regatta down the Sedgehunkedunk Stream.
Mainers sponsored or adopted 100 rubber ducks for the race down the stream for a cash prize.
A flock of three rubber ducks cost Mainers $25 to adopt, while an individual duck was $10.
“It’s to benefit the Orrington Historical Society. They just purchased the Old Grange Hall and are improving that. So, proceeds from the duck race each year goes to the historical society,” Orrington Old Home Week Committee President Dick Campbell said.
He also said in the midst of the COVID-19 pandemic, the events of Old Home Week will still go on, with the only change being for July 11’s event, Wicked Muddy Mainer, being held without any spectators.
Events for town’s Old Home Week wrap up July 19.
