MILLINOCKET – Students from the Granite Street School in Millinocket got a special surprise on Wednesday.
According to a post on the school’s Facebook page, the teachers wanted to say hello to their students, from a distance, because they miss them.
Teachers and staff held a parade that went throughout the town Wednesday afternoon.
According to assistant principal Josh McNaughton, the parade is a reward for the hard work being put in by the students and their families during these difficult times.
“We’ve been really impressed, the parents have really stepped up a lot and they’ve done a tremendous job. Our teaching staff and support staff have been reaching out to families on a daily basis. The kids have been working extremely hard, getting a lot done given the circumstances,” McNaughton said.
Both the kids and teachers were excited to see each other.
