BANGOR- As the result of tele-health and the need to limit face to face interactions due to COVID-19, the CEO of Penobscot Community Health Care, Lori Dwyer, says they are furloughing 75 of their 800 of their workers.
PCHC started to switch most of its non-emergency appointments online in about the middle of March.
They also made an effort to have as many of their employees as possible working from home.
Dwyer says most of the furloughed workers are receiving financial support through short term programs.
Their walk-in clinics are still open, but like all health care centers they ask you call ahead if you’re experiencing any flu-like symptoms.
