WINN – The state fire marshal’s office is investigating what caused a fire that damaged a building and sent one person to the hospital with injuries in the Penobscot County town of Winn late Tuesday night.
Firefighters from Mattawamkeag, Lincoln, Lee, Springfield and Medway were called to help respond to a fully-involved fire at a camp located on Springfield Road.
Lincoln Fire Captain Ken Goslin said the fire was first reported around 10:30 p.m.
We’re told one person suffered burns and other injuries after escaping the building through a window. Mattawamkeag’s fire chief told us that person was taken by ambulance to Penobscot Valley Hospital in Lincoln.
First responders were on scene for hours putting out the fire.
The identity of the victim has not yet been released.
