LAGRANGE – State Police have released more information regarding a deadly crash that killed one person and injured another in LaGrange Tuesday evening.
State Police said in a statement they were called to Medford Road just before 7:00 p.m. Tuesday for reports of a single-vehicle rollover accident.
Authorities said the driver, Randall Hamm, 39, of LaGrange lost control of the SUV when going around a corner, which caused the vehicle to go off the road and land on its roof.
In a statement, police said Desarae Bourgoine, 35, of LaGrange was ejected from the vehicle and pronounced dead at the scene.
Hamm had to be extricated from the vehicle, and was taken to Northern Light Eastern Maine Medical Center via Life Flight to be treated for non-life-threatening injuries, police said.
Maine State Police say the investigation into what caused the crash continues. A trooper at the scene Tuesday said speed and alcohol were factors in the accident.
