AUGUSTA – State Police are providing more details about what they’re investigating as a domestic violence murder-suicide in Augusta Monday.
Authorities believe Eric Ryan, 30, formerly of Clinton, stabbed his girlfriend, 30-year-old Loryn McCollett, to death.
Around 1:30 p.m. Monday, Augusta Police went to the home the couple shared at 93 Northern Avenue for a welfare check.
According to a public safety spokesperson, officers were knocking on the door when Ryan shot and killed himself.
Ryan’s body was found in a bathroom, while McCollett’s body was found in her bed.
The spokesperson says detectives will continue conducting interviews as investigators process the scene for evidence.
