UNITY – Maine State Police are asking for the public’s help in identifying human remains found in a stream last Friday.
Maine Department of Public Safety spokesman Stephen McCausland said kayakers discovered human remains in Sandy Stream and contacted the Waldo County Sheriff’s Office.
McCausland said the remains appear to be an adult male and may have been in the stream for several years.
This week investigators searched the area around the stream where the body was discovered, he said.
More searches are planned for the stream and the surrounding area.
McCausland said anyone with any information should call the state police.
