BRIDGEWATER – Maine State Police responded to a potato truck fire in Bridgewater on Saturday.
Shortly after noon, when Maine State Police arrived to where the truck was on U.S. Route 1, it was fully engulfed in flames. That’s according to a press release from the Maine State Police.
Bridgewater firefighters were able to put the fire out upon arrival.
The release says the driver noticed the truck smoking and pulled over. When he got out, he saw potato tops stuck under the truck.
The truck is owned by Whited Farms of Bridgewater, and most of the load was saved.
No one was injured in the fire.
