BANGOR – Protesters gathered outside democratic Representative Jared Golden’s Bangor office Monday urging him to support impeaching President Donald Trump.
Those at Monday’s rally called the president “disgraceful” and said that they’re concerned for the future of the country in terms of polarization.
“We want Representative Golden to hear us and to know that we have his back,” said John Curtis, a protester who lives in Surry. “He shouldn’t worry about voting for impeachment. It seems the evidence is clear, and we won’t really understand it if he doesn’t vote for this.”
In a statement, Representative Golden said he welcomes the chance to hear from his constituents.
He called impeachment a “gravely serious issue,” but added he’s also working in Washington, D.C. to solve everyday problems for Mainers in his district.
