AUGUSTA — Kimberly C. Rosen was declared the winner of the Maine Senate District 8 Republican primary after a recount was conducted Thursday.
When the votes were counted on Election Day, her opponent Lawrence Lockman trailed the incumbent by nearly 60 votes.
Lockman had served in the Maine House of Representatives from District 137, representing several towns in Penobscot and Hancock counties.
Rosen represented Bucksport and Orrington in the House until 2004, when term limits forced her out of office.
Rosen returned to the Maine Legislature in 2014, when she was elected to the seat that opened up when Sen. Ed Youngblood retired.
